You can hear people in the park next to york minster chatting, walking, laughing and there's distant city noises. Then, around halfway through the recording the bells start to ring out for midday. Happened upon an orchestra warming up/rehearsing inside st. Louis cathedral at jackson square in new orleans. It's that beautifully cacophonous sound of all the instruments getting into tune, some of the musicians talking (a few tourists as well).

Here is the sound recorded inside of a cathedral in the city of gap france. The cathedral was mostly empty at the time. 96khz 24bit stereo.

Sounds generated by assigning the "wave out" or "line out" signal of the soundcard to a track in fl, and turnin it up. This acts as a digital delay effect with infinite feedback and a very high cycle rate. Basically the noise (similar to pink noise) is produced by the soundcard and the resonance is produced by the low pass filter and the convolution reverb mapping of the waldassen cathedral.

Recorded on marantz pmd661 with rode ntg-2. Sound of builders taking down scaffolding in a large echoey space. Sporadic clanging and banging sounds throughout and occasional muffled voices (with cockney accents). Good ambient sound for builders working in a cathedral, empty art gallery or some other large, open space.
